My special thanks go to Dr Egon Bruhin, president of the Vordemberge-Gildewart Foundation/CH, and my trustee colleagues Prof Dietrich Helms, Dr hc David Juda, Dr Linus Bruhin and Gebhard Klaus, who trusted in this great project.

To the colleagues of Museum Wiesbaden/D, Dr Alexander Klar (Director), Dr Jörg Daur (Deputy Director), Dr Roman Zieglgänsberger (curator of Modern Art including the estate of Friedrich Vordemberge-Gildewart), and the whole team working on VG. They all gave me great help and support.

To Dr Simone Förster/Ann & Jürgen Wilde Collection at Pinakothek der Moderne Munich – Dr Stefan Gronert/Sprengel Museum Hanover – The Museum of Modern Art New York.

To Annely Juda Fine Art London/GB, especially to Dr hc David Juda (Director) and to Nina Fellmann (Director), who were a great help in locating many works spread all over the world and finding details. Nina Fellmann was so important for all translations within this new publication.

To Hendrik A. Berinson and his team of Galerie Berinson Berlin/D, to Stephanie and Hans Mayer and their team of Galerie Hans Mayer Düsseldorf/D, to Winfried Reckermann Cologne/D, to Galerie Gmurzynska Zurich/CH and to Galerie Stolz Berlin/D.

To all private owners who helped with information, permissions and trust – especially to Si and Dieter Rosenkranz Berlin/D and to Hanne Sternheimer Düsseldorf/D.

To August Vordemberge, the sole nephew and last blood relative of Vordemberge-Gildewart, and his wife Rosemarie, who helped to clear up a lot of facts and made stories come to life.

There is a warm thank you given to Georgios Michaloudis and his team “farbanalyse” Cologne, Philipp Niederlag and Judith Geisler. With their possibilities of a brilliant technique and very special help they led Vordemberge-Gildewart and his work into the digital world and to high quality of colour.

My last and very special thanks are dedicated to Uta Kopp/Visuelle Kommunikation Cologne and Uwe Ahlgrimm/Screendesign & Entwicklung Cologne – they gave all that wonderful form to thoughts and ideas, worked with great empathy, appreciation and professionality on VG and his Œuvre. The artistic world of Friedrich Vordemberge-Gildewart is brought to a new life.

Thank you all.
